About IPM

Pain care that explains itself.

Interventional Pain Management is a physician-led practice serving Pasadena, Baytown, and Katy. Our work begins with a careful diagnosis and ends with a plan you can actually follow.

We believe pain care should feel specific — never a menu of injections. Each visit starts with listening, examines the source before the symptom, and prefers minimally invasive treatment that protects long-term function.

The Interventional Pain Management care team

Diagnosis first

Pain has a source. We take time to identify the structure or nerve driving symptoms before recommending a procedure.

Minimally invasive

Whenever possible, we use image-guided injections, nerve blocks, and ablations rather than defaulting to surgery or chronic medication.

Function-focused

Our goal is restored mobility, sleep, and confidence — measured in what you can do again, not just what hurts less.

How we work

A focused first visit, then a clear plan.

Most patients leave the first appointment knowing what is causing their pain, what the next step is, and how soon it can happen.

Step 01

Listen and evaluate

A focused history, exam, and review of imaging or prior care helps us isolate the pain generator.

Step 02

Explain the options

We outline what is causing pain, which interventional options may help, and what each involves.

Step 03

Treat and follow through

Most procedures happen onsite with prompt scheduling and a clear recovery plan.

Our approach

Diagnosis-first, non-surgical pain care in Greater Houston

Interventional Pain Management is a non-surgical, diagnosis-first pain practice serving Greater Houston from three locations in Pasadena, Baytown, and Katy.

What is the philosophy behind Interventional Pain Management?

Interventional Pain Management (IPM) is a non-surgical pain practice that starts every treatment plan with an accurate diagnosis. Led by Dr. Rehan Memon, MD, a board-certified, fellowship-trained interventional pain specialist, we believe lasting relief depends on knowing exactly which structure is causing your pain before any procedure is recommended. Up to 23% of adults worldwide live with chronic lower back pain, yet the right path forward differs meaningfully from one person to the next.

A herniated or bulging disc, spinal stenosis, sciatica, and degenerative disc disease can produce overlapping symptoms while calling for very different approaches. To tell them apart, Dr. Memon reviews your medical history, performs a focused physical exam, and uses imaging when appropriate to pinpoint the source of your pain. This diagnosis-first standard means your treatment targets the real problem rather than just masking symptoms, and it helps us avoid unnecessary procedures. It is the foundation of everything we do for low back pain, neck pain, neuropathy, and pain that persists after back surgery.

How does IPM treat pain without surgery?

We relieve pain using minimally invasive, image-guided procedures instead of surgery. Our treatments include epidural steroid injections, facet joint injections, nerve blocks, radiofrequency ablation, trigger point injections, corticosteroid injections, and hyaluronic acid injections. Epidural steroid injections alone are among the most common pain procedures performed in the United States, with roughly 9 million administered each year. Most of these treatments are done on an outpatient basis with little to no downtime, so you can usually go home shortly afterward and ease back into your routine.

Our focus is always functional. Reducing pain is the means; the goal is helping you move more freely, sleep better, work, and return to the activities that matter most to you. Rather than applying a one-size-fits-all routine, Dr. Memon explains your options in plain language, builds a plan around your specific goals, and coordinates follow-up to track your progress and adjust care as your needs change over time.

Why do Houston-area patients choose IPM?

Houston-area patients choose IPM for specialist-level interventional care paired with genuine convenience. We verify your insurance benefits before your visit so there are no billing surprises, schedule new patients promptly once we receive your referral, and staff every location with bilingual English- and Spanish-speaking team members who can answer your questions clearly. With three locations across Greater Houston in Pasadena, Baytown, and Katy, getting answers and starting treatment close to home is simple.

We are committed to access as well as expertise. IPM accepts Medicare and many major insurance plans, including UnitedHealthcare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, WellMed, Wellcare, and Molina. Combined with a diagnosis-first approach from a fellowship-trained physician and a team that treats you like a neighbor, this makes it easier for people throughout the Houston area to take a clear, informed first step toward lasting relief.

Frequently asked questions

Is Interventional Pain Management a surgical practice?

No. IPM is a non-surgical, interventional pain practice. Dr. Rehan Memon treats pain with minimally invasive, image-guided injections and procedures such as epidural steroid injections, nerve blocks, and radiofrequency ablation. These outpatient options are designed to relieve pain and restore function without the recovery time of surgery.

Where are your clinics located and what are your hours?

IPM has three locations across Greater Houston: Pasadena (our primary office), Baytown, and Katy. Pasadena and Baytown are open Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm; Katy is open Monday and Thursday, 9am to 5pm. You can reach our team at 713.369.1969 to ask questions, verify benefits, or request an appointment once you have a referral from your provider.

What should I expect at my first visit?

Your first visit centers on diagnosis. Dr. Memon reviews your history, performs a physical exam, and orders imaging when appropriate to identify the source of your pain. He then explains your options in plain language and, if a procedure is warranted, builds a personalized treatment plan around your goals.
